Im interested in making a circuit that will sporadically flash 2 6" ccfls and then steady out to a constant light.

Does anyone have a circuit like this or can design one for me?

    Won't that damage the CCFL's?

Try a normal LED flash circuit and hook the inverter up to it - make sure it can handle a fair bit of current!!!!!!

I want the CCFLs to flash for a little while then flash faster and then just stay on.

    I guess so.

I just want it to flash faster and faster untill theres just one steady stream of light.

Like how a ball bounces and then eventually quits bouncing.

i know what you mean... this could be interesting... what about using PIC?

or mabye a 555 connected to some sort of sine wave generator and a electronic potmeter...

another option is to use a decade counter with different 555's on each output with different frequencies... could be expensive though...

i like the idea of failing strip lights it fits in with a case i have in planning I will have a think about circuits and chat with a few friends of mine who may be able to help.

ps i know you want a steadiliy increasing flash so dont worry
