Because SHMBO has decided that we are going blind and curtains in the living room and given that the flat faces the wrong way to get loads of natural light I will be living in the gloom. So I am looking to get a couple of floor lights, cannot be anything else really as the flat is rented and now fully redecorated.

Not sure if I am looking at uplighters or some such. Certainly looking for something that gives off decent light not these echo friendly but pathetic bulbs are concerned. In my man cave I have a rather cracking Opus Antqiue Brass Halogen Uplighter which has a dimmer and I am thinking of a couple of these might suffice. But open to suggestions.

most bulbs are classed as Warm white, they advise that if you have SAD to use Cool white as its more natural, but the bulbs i get are just advertised as SAD e27 bulbs

I have that lamp as well. It's pretty good and looks nice enough for the price. On bulbs I recommend that whatever color temperature you get, make sure they're high CRI bulbs. I'm 96+ CRI LEDs throughout my house. Everything looks better with high CRI, no matter the color temp.

Would one of you Samtid owners do me a favour and measure the length of the arm from elbow to centre of shade please? :thumb:

From the center of the elbow on the upright to the center of the elbow on the lamp the length is 20 & 7/16" or 519mm.
