    Question: Are fluoropens UV reactive??

Would make a really cool idea to draw on MoBo and cards

With the fluorescent gel pens? Certainly. I don't know how well the ink would stay, but it would definitely work.

    normaly highlighters work fine

soem are brighter then others... i think the yellow is the brightest glow..

I used them to colour the edges of my cards, and its fairly effective but it does fade after a few months, but its not a chore to redo in my case :)

sadly, judging from his count post I dont think he was kidding :sigh:

most uv pens will work, but uv blue is a hit or miss because most blue highliters and gel pens are not fluorescent

    Balls.

And here I was hoping I had made a mark :duh:

Oh well one one man can think of, another often has!

Already started sketchs and designing, no big chore, but CAD is haaaard (specially when your used to programs like the Adobe series & Quark)

Oh well no biggy, cheers though

Yeah, unfortunately if there's a way to glue it, hack it up, chop it, void the warranty, and now mark on it, it's been thought of. ;)

That shouldn't mean not to do it, though...because there is as much originality in how you compile these ideas and produce a final product as there is in thinking up one of your own.

My latin teacher waaaay back in high school used to say:
"There is nothing original that has been written in literature since shortly after man first learned to write. What makes a writer great is their ability to say it again and have it still be interesting."

    :dremel: on, KelticFox.

gel pens are better than others, u will still have to build it up in layers though, did mine quite a way back, they still look good :D i even started by painting the edges of me cards white (just enamel paint) so u get a better overall effect when u put the uv on it

it kinda reminds me of tron
i'm new to case modding so dont hate me for asking this but would a UV cathode still light up those pens if i had my blue ones on at the same time.
also has anyone thort of using those invisible "securety markers" that show up under UV for doing stuff like that, or maybe for drawing on the case window for stuff thats only visible when you have the UV on

    Rick,

as long as your blue lights weren't too bright, it wouldn't interfere too much. There will be a slight diminishing of the effect, but not to the point where you can't see it anymore.

Security tags? Hmmm...now that's one that at least I haven't heard of yet...wonder if anyone else has?

i mite have to go buy some uv cathodes now *wonders over to ebay*
do you think 4" ones would give out enough light when there was only an led case fan on for the other light?

from my experience the jel pens light up a bit from the blue cathodes, but the blue will drown out a lot of the uv from a cathode, in my last case i had the cathodes switched so i could have blue or uv on

There are some mods over in the project logs that use both UV and blue, and it works alright. However, I'm not sure on the strength/size of each bulb.... Another option could be to use UV CCFLs and Blue LEDs, which could provide more point lighting and thus interfere less with the overall effect.
