Just read this over at Space.com: Investigation Casts Light on the Mysterious Flying Black Triangle "NIDS makes the case that Big Black Deltas, or BBDs, are U.S. Defense Department airships. They are so large they can carry massive payloads at low altitudes, cruising at speeds three to five times as fast as surface ships. Among a range of NIDS observations, the group believes the BBDs are powered by electrokinetic/field drives, or airborne nuclear power units. These craft also fly at extreme altitudes, high above conventional aircraft and the pulsing of ground-based traffic control radar. "
Ah yes Spike - You can have a ride in one of them. The only downside is after they've asked you if you've had a good flight, they kill you and dump your still warm body over the side.... Hmmm - if the report is true, the commercial application would be fab. I'd love to take an "air cruise" down to Aus or something - probably take a week to get there, but what a way to travel!
I can see it now. "Carnival Air Cruises: Take a trip to the carribean... by air! Get sea sick on normal cruises? Hate jet lag? Why not get the best of both worlds? Take 1/3 of the time a normal cruise would take, and do it thousands of miles above the earth! We also have the world's only 5-star BBD, complete with rock wall, 3 olympic-sized pools, 2 casinos, 7 bars and clubs, and 2 dining halls. If you can't enjoy our luxury BBD, you can't enjoy life."
Strange that this should crop up so soon after the Beoing story. ** GOO, watch out for the term 'electrokinetic' in that book I recently pointed out to you
It was on the doormat when I got in from work. Will start reading later (already looked at the pictures!)
