I've seen heaps of people asking about them. and they generally get the same answer. Fog machines leave some sort of residue / vapour that will propably stuff something up.
Has anyone ever used CO2 to make a fog-like effect? The only downside to this is it is very high pressure and would need some sort of regulator to get it to slowly spray.
Carbon Dioxide is a colourless gas, the fog caused by the release of CO2 is due to the temperature drop that occurs when a high pressure gas becomes a low pressure gas condensing moisture out of the air. Therefore using the formula [Water + Electical Components] = bad news, we can surmise that it's not such a good idea.
I had considered using a Co2 canister rigged to a removable HDD caddy. When the caddy is inserted, a certain amount would be released under the case and the temperature difference would cause the Co2 to fall and be visible. It would also make a cool hissing noise. Was only an idea, sounded pretty cool at the time but a little OTT.
You could always put the fog in a seperate chamber, then run some lasers though it... now that would look cool.
might last you the length of say a lan party... I'm sure if you sheathed your connectors and maybe watercooled your pc, a conventional oil burning fog machine would be fine, but it does leave a lil bit of residue
Set it up like this with a fog machine Code: Case _________ | f | M| | o | O| | g | B| | | O| | c | &| | h | c| | a | a| | b |----r| | m |----d| | e | s| | r | | |___|_____|
