Windows Folder is set to read-only, can't unset it!

I have a big partition (e on my hard drive for all my music, videos etc etc. In Windows MCE it is all too easy to delete videos by accident when you finish watching them, so I made the whole of the partition read-only.

Since then, I have reinstalled Windows (MCE) on the c: partition and I can obviously read the files from the e: partition. But it won't let me change the read-only bit from the partition which is incredible annoying as now I can't write anything to the drive. I am guessing this is something to do with admin rights and folder permissions?

How do I get it back?
