Uh, um... I'm thinking Modena... But not 100% sure... My grandparents are from that area (father's side).

it is true though, the iraq bit especially! for instance today your boys shot dead two iraqi's because they got out of a car with guns. Is it illegal for non-americans to own a gun now? why is it that your people always think that someone is out to get you.

Do you know the whole story? Were you there? This is what I'm talking about. Okay, yea, maybe soldiers shot 2 Iraqi's because they got out of the car with guns (didn't read any story about it), but what were the circumstances behind it? We're they *just* getting out of the car with guns or were they getting out of the car with the intention to shoot? We're you there to verify the assumption you imply? In addition, by stating it in this manner, you're lumping the entire military together. Plus by also stating "your boys", you're in turn implicating me by proxy. That's called stereotyping by some and racist by others. I had nothing to do with it, the rest of the military had nothing to do with it. Don't accuse the entire nation of blood lust et al because of extenuating circumstances.

I'm fine... I had a REAL bad day at work today and even little things were getting under my skin. I almost told a client to shove it earlier! Thank god my kids came home and I was me once again! ;)

Chilling: Is it nice there? I've always wanted to visit Italy but know I'll never be able to afford it. Well, that is unless you have a guest room :D

I agree with everything that Dad has said. I take offense to all these people bad mouthing my country and our president. Ya know, we didnt have to bail your asses out of WW2. You guys could be speaking german right now, not english. Everyone loves the US when they are getting something from us. Be it money, support, whatever. But should we do one single thing that has OUR interests in heart.. well ****- looks like were the bad guys now. Had saddam been left to his own devices and *if* he did infact develop long range missiles, you guys would ahve been in range long before us. Do you really want to take that chance? And when people talk about our military killing people without reason, why dont you put yourself in that soldiers position. You see some people drive up with weapons. You do not know these people, let alone what their intentions are. Are you going to wait and see if they fire at you? cuz its too late then. They probably only had a few seconds to decide, and with the adrenaline of the moment survival was at the top of their priorities. And about this mocking our patriotism, my family just like Dad said before, have always flown the flag on our houses. Both my mother and my father were in the air force, and thus have a strong feeling of pride in this country. That same pride is in me too, I do take it personally when people start to say how horible the USA, or whatever little arguement they have. But what gets me even more are the people in this country that talk bad about it. Their freedom of speech given to them by the country they are bad mouthing is allowing them to say what they do. I wonder what would have happened if these same people were in iraq before saddam was overthrown and started to talk bad about saddam and iraq.

well, thats bout it for todays rant.

Man morphine you're sense of humour is desending almost to the German level. I don't agree with most of the stuff in that video. I would probably like America just as much as you if I lived there seems like a great place to be. There are just a few things in that video that tickle my spine due to a certain amount of truth in them. For example the statments about the environment etc. But most of it is clearly totally unserious. We have a TV program called 'Have I got News for you' which basically badmouths the government in exactly the same way. I wonder how the Americans would find it if there was an American version.

By the way I hate patriotism and nationalism probably as much as you hate people who disrespect your country. I think the hate of a certain country is equally irrational to the love of a country and they are essentially the same thing.

morphine, i read the first 6 or 7 lines of that and got bored, ww2? no we wouldnt be speaking german, if you would goto the libary and look, the germans had decided that they couldnt take england and stoped but the US decided to stick their big fat noses into something had had **** to do with them (as usual) why didnt you get involved at the start? exactly, you decided to get involded when it suited you not when it suits everyone else. If you look at that first statement "we would be speaking german" look, we have our own language and you yanks would be speaking mostly spanish not English
Now as for iraq, you helpd put saddam there in the first place so its your own fault, much like you trained bin laden to fight russia. your boys more than likly would have shot them guys in that car even if they were english troops since you cant seem to tell the difference between friend and foe, but when it comes to yanks you think that everyone is a foe.

*me waits for more crap about ww2 and the american revolution (which had a certain amount of terrorism attached to it)*
