What's actually going on?

 

So what happens is you randomly lose some ammount of your progression. Like you join a server, gain two levels, back out of the game and you're right back where you started. Some people reportedly lost everything. It's allover the Steam forums.

but then again, its only stats... its not like its currency

I've hit level 44 about a dozen times now. I'll never prestige

 

well it seems like a lot of people have played enough to presitge after 5 days, so you'll all have 10th level prestige within 2 months at this rate...
assuming treyarch can fix the current problem, and not cause more

 

Given that there's only been about 5 playable hours between now and release date as well...
