I just got this email from AMD Technicaly about another product launch, however I believe the issues are worth everyone reading for those who want to play these games with ATI graphics cards. For the record, we don't necessary agree 100% with the opinions of AMD on specific parts.

For those unaware of what TWIMTBP program is, Nvidia offers free hardware support to developers who want to test their products on a range of Nvidia hardware. ATI does not offer this service, so the developer has to the cost of debugging ATI hardware.

Batman was specifically funded by Nvidia to include PhysX and 3D Vision technologies, so it's unsurprising of its design bias.

exactly.. the aa deny on ati, I mean comeon and physx.. I bet jen sent a bunch of love you long time down to the batman devs for that one

&edit- actually I saw NVIDIA by itself in the credits of batman at the end of the game.. they must have had their fingers all up in that game

I can see joe's point too, if ati would do the same things might come out different

well, i'd say it's AMD's fault in not providing the hardware for developers to test. sure they make fantastic cards, it's like Apple making fantastic laptops, but no customer support or releases buggy software.

in the end, only AMD graphic users are hurt by their gaming experience.

The Batman issue sounds decidedly dodgy on nVidia's part, I mean disabling in game AA for your rival's cards. A bit below the belt. The other two are what you'd expect when a game is heavily supported by one of the companies alone.

Am i right in thinking Nvidia have been doing this for ages? Surely AMD could have seen the benefits of such a system?

Would it be that difficult to offer developers the same support as Nvidia do? Are they just annoyed that the heavily funded Batman game just so happens to probably be the best game of the year, and their hardware suffers in it?
