    This has some other links about solar. Here is a news story within the last 24 hours. Looks like the sunny places in the world can benefit, but what about the UK? If not how far south does usage permit?

    Germany does well for solar power, and their weather isn't that different to ours.
    Also note that solar power is free (after set-up) and even a little is more than zero.

    and if anyone doubts the capability of the sun to power stuff may i recommend watching the solar car challange that happens in .au every 2 years (or used to before the speed limit changed in the NT(new rules this year)) my Accent got out accelerated by a solar car and i was already moving

    I just got this newsletter from maplin - solar is still quite expensive. :(
    and what's the latest on planning permission requirements?

    Just imagine how much power that can be produced if everyone covered their roofs with solar panels.

    besides, solar panels look nice :)
