Windows Formatting??

    Hello all, i want to formatt a hard drive but dont want to install windows xp on it i want to format it so that win xp has gone and it has it's partition and everything and ready to use just for storage purposes only.

    You don't need the xp disc to format it. Make a boot floppy or cd and make sure it has format.com on it then give it a "format C:" or whichever you want to format.

    Or put it in another computer with Windows on as a Slave and format it using Windows' built-in formatting utility.

    Not sure which versions of Windows have this, I know for a fact that XP does though.

    Thanks for all your support i used the goolgle in the end and that gave me all the info i needed.
