So I've been playing F1 Online - The Game and I'm loving it. It's free to play but you can speed up your progress with microtransactions if you wish. Once you've set up your Team you can begin racing, starting in the lowest category (U) it doesn't take long before you start earning cash for finishing races, if you achieve a race target then you earn more (race targets are set against your competition in terms of car level) so it's pretty fair. As you progress you can build team buildings to research new blueprints for upgrading engines, wings, then a little later brakes, suspension and sidepods. You also earn perks as you rank up which can help boost race earnings. The races are on fictional circuits but you can jump in an Official F1 Team car and race on real circuits to help boost your cash. The cars are much faster than the category you start in so you might find it too fast initially. The game controls are very simplistic and pretty easy to get to grips with, steering with the mouse and using keys to control KERS and DRS (when activated). It's a topdown (Micromachines) view of the track and cars, looks pretty good for a browser based game. I was really skeptical of the mouse controlled steering at first, but it's actually really intuative and after a couple of races you're clipping apexes like a pro. bloody good fun for free! DeamonHill - M.Z.A. Inc
Yeah I'm hooked too, I'm up to category B9 and regularly targeted for a top 3 finish, I've won a few races too . I've even won a championship finishing in a fairly consistent manner (4th, 4th, 5th & 2nd) which gives you a fairly hefty cash injection!
i've just got into b class. I was up to a class in the closed beta, gets really fast and requires a lot more control and precision at that pace. i used to hold the record for fastest lap on black sea ring in the closed beta
Played this loads during the closed beta and found that I was wishing to skip the driving bit and focus on the management lol I have NEVER liked manager games before (Football Manager is the single most stupid and pointless game in the history of creation in my opinion) and yet I was loving it!! I might have to start playing again and see how it is now it's live.
I've been meaning to try this out but never got around to it. Definitely going to give it a shot when I get my pc sorted out.
Well I've just unlocked Level 20 so I can now move up to A-Class, there are also new factory buildings that can be built to unlock more blueprints and upgrades. I'm going to stick around B-Class for a bit longer as I'm a regular top 3 finisher and still earning good money. The A-Class upgrades aren't cheap either! might be hanging around B-Class for a LOT longer!
