I'm debating whether or not to get it since I don't have XBL(i'm cheap) but I do have an old 360.

    Is a steering wheel required?

And also about that marketplace ability, can I use it w/o XBL gold?

Final question: Is it worth getting?

    a stearing wheel isnt required

from what i no of you can use market place without xbl gold (im not to sure tho seeing as i have gold)

yes it is worth getting its a great game. up to yet i havnt been on a better racing game. it does come with 2 disks tho one is the game and the other is content beeing maps and cars so you do need a HDD. also it isnt a short game that you can finish in a couple of hours. i have been playing it for about 4 and i dont think im even half way through it.

and for £25 of play.com http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/10287956/Forza-Motorsport-3/Product.html its well worth the buy :D

AFAIK, No market place without XBL Gold.
    No wheel required
Other than that, great game. Not a ZOMG SUPER HARDCORE SIM!!!11, but one of the somewhat more serious driving games (i.e the old NFS ways won't work, and driving like in GRiD will end you up in a tyre wall quite quickly).

I find it quite challenging if you turn all the assists off and drive something rear drive / high powered.

    always.
There's nothing quite like the LeMans track in an Audi R15 or comparable.
Gives you an entirely new perspective of just how damn demanding that track is to drive, and how I never want to drive it at those speeds at night.
Of course, there's only one way in Forza: All assists OFF.
Difficulty level should be set to hard, but for the beginning, normal is ok - just easy.
If you really need assists, I'd suggest ABS, TC in that order. Try to stay away from the ESP, as that just makes it harder to turn assists off.

yeh there isnt much on the market place compared to the number of cars on the game as standard.

id say worth purchasing, doublely if you dont have forza 2 already. but even if you have it is. youll get loads of hours out of it

I would recommend the game, however when the demo was first put on Xbox Live I hated the game. It felt too slow and the cars seemed to handle like a double decker bus!

However I very recently gave it a second chance, (I managed to get a cheap copy from ebuyer) and im really enjoying it this time, once i got used to the new style of driving (i.e. not like GRID) the game actually plays much better. and the upgrades you can add to the cars actually make a difference in game.

I havent really had a play with the online capabilities yet (my internet connection is a bit flaky at the moment) but i will probably get around to it soon-ish.

For the reduced price its definitely worth having in your collection, especially if you're a racing game fan
