Electronics Found 2 displays...

    Heres the deal, i found 2 displays laying around, basically im wondering WHAT they are and if theres a way to salvage em and put them to good use!

    It looks like you've got two eight-digit alphanumeric VFDs. You'll need an inverter and a driver IC to make any good use of them. The wiring is probably more than a little tricky. I'd just buy one premade.

    I can deal with complicated wiring
    Any clue how much an inverter and IC would cost me?

    I think they may be 5x7 LED matrix displays. Actually quite expesnive little units. If my guess is right, it would look like this powered up:

    To see if that is what it is, take a 5v through a 2K resistor (2.5mA) and try it on random pairs of pins. If you can get some pixels to light up then that is what you have.

    +5v
    (wire)
    (2K ohm resistor)
    random pin 1 on display
    random pin 2 on display
    (wire)
    ground
