    hmph!

On a note with memory, compared to running at stock timings, how much better is the performance with the nice tight timings you were testing with?

Don't you need two for a pair of GX7950 GX2s in Quad SLi?

Why would you want two GX2s not DX10 cards? And for that matter: why quad sli?? ;):)

I agree absolutely, you'd be mental to buy GX2s now, but if you have a pair, you need two bridges for quad sli, so I guess that is why some manufacturers include them in the bundle, so as not to be accused of missing ANYTHING out!!

Nice looking board - sounds like it fell a whisker short from greatness tbh.

Any idea when/if you'll have a DFI LP 680i LT? Looks like an awesome board...

Why can't motherboard manufacturers make decent software? It's always horrible. :eyebrow:

Still, if you want to mess about with your BIOS in windows then I suppose you deserve to be subjected to awful software.

    What's about that #14?

Also, if SLI is a two VGAs system why having that #3 on 680i motherboards?

PS: I was always curious about those two things for some time already. :p

#3 is a third PCI-E slot, which has 8 lanes rather than 16 for the other two. You could use the third slot for a RAID controller, a third graphics card (in future) to handle physics calculations, or any PCI-E x1 device like a soundcard or TV capture card.

The 7900 GX2 requires two, but 7950 GX2 quad SLI requires one.

Looks pretty good. I'm really not too keen on chipset fans, though. :(

I got as far as the bit about the noise of the fans and lost interest. I'm not totally sold on heatpipes all over the board either but I like my systems to be reasonably quiet. I think Foxconn has great potential but this board needs a little more work before I'd buy one.
