Windows FPS Games, suggest some

I want to get back into my FPS gaming. I will be buying a graphics card next month and wanted to know what good FPS games are out there?

I currently play

Team Fortress 2
Bad Company 2 ( on low settings )
Counter Strike
Star Trek Online

I would like to play something a little different so i'm open to suggestions.

 

Dishonored.

(also Battlefield 3)

 

I want one with an awesome multiplayer side. Would like to get back into gaming with a regular group.

Battlefield 3, intfact all the battlefields are still fun to play (2, 1942, 1943)
Black ops for zombie mode if that's your thing,
Battlefield heroes (free and similar to TF2)
And maybe the Cyrsis 3?

Steer well clear of the call of duty crap they keep serving and you'll be fine!

 

For solid multiplayer shooters you're really torn between: BF3, COD if your mates are on it, and TF2 or Counterstrike.

 

For something a little different take a look at Bioshock Infinite next month. I'm hoping they will have polished the shooting part of the game a little.

 

Arma 2 - don't expect to be able to jump though!

 

Oh, play Doom. A pure shooter, with an excellent multiplayer.

 

If you like fast paced online multiplayer COD is a pretty good bet. Counterstrike for something a bit more tactical and bf3 for tanks planes and big maps (compared to cod anyway.)

 

Watching some gameplay I don't think there is much change to the shooting part.

 

Just depends what your m8s play.

Mine is a pretty spread mix between blackops2 and bf3. So I play those 2.

Counter strike can be had dert cheap on steam sales most of the time and is still far and away the best tactical FPS game that is actually easy to get into. ( arma2 is better but the time you have to play to get into it is majorly off putting for many)

Some of the older classics still work well if you can find servers.

I also wanted to get back to FPS gaming recently but I couldn't get into PS2. The last games I played were Tribes 1 and CS 1.6 so that's a long time ago. I am now playing Heroes and General. It's still in Beta and their public is Square Enix. As well as the FPS game there is also a strategy game. Players earn credits while playing the FPS game, then we can use the credits to buy Assault Teams (Infantry, Armor, Fighters etc) and send them into battles. These assault teams act as spawn slots in the FPS game. It might be similar to WoT, CoD etc. but I haven't played those so I can't comment.
