I've been umm'ing and arr'ing about what case to buy for the computer I'm planning on building in the next couple of months... The fractal is now down to £69 on scan, and on today only the HAF 922 goes down to £70/£75. Now the R3 looks better (the white edition is even nicer), but the 922 has better cooling I think. What do you guys reckon? Any other cases can be suggested!
Personally I prefer the HAF but the Fractal seems more fashionable right now ! I also have Coolermaster CM 690II Advanced. They are a nice case with good cooling and not as bulgy as the HAF.
I have a fractal r3 and it's awesome. The cooling isn't as bad as I thought it was meant to be and is very quiet.
HAF 922. To best optimise the cooling you could do with getting a couple extra 120mm fans. Or a 200mm fan. The CM690 is a pretty good case also. If you get either, you'll be very happy with. Having said that, the R3 is also a great case.
This question again? Seems everyone is debating between those two cases lately. My 2 cents, HAF are ugly, R3's are kinda nice too fashionable now and I hate doors. Someone suggested a 690 II, I own one and recommend it. Not ugly and no dumb doors.
I recently bought the R3 XL and have to say very happy with it. love the fact that the ports and power button etc. are all on the top - really handy place to have them. Also whisper quiet, and cool.
Until you need spares. I loved Antec stuff but have bought my last one. 690 has lots of configurations and can even house watercooling.
Agreed! I purchased a Lian Li A05NB, great little case! Had to mod it slightly though by fitting a couple of 120mm fans to the right side cover to blow cool air over mt mobo and gfx card!
You can buy replacement top panel's for the Lian Li A05 that houses a 140mm fan: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_1145.html. Bargain at £18.38 excluding shipping.
