Looked at the Fractal web site and can't see any reference to the capability of the R3 (which I'm interested in) having any sort of mounting for an SSD.

Has anyone got any experience/knowledge of mounting an SSD in a Fractal R3?

    Thanks.

I just mounted a C300 64GB in my Fractal R3 this weekend and it was no problem at all.

I used the FDD screws rather than the HDD screws to mount it though.

What is FDD (got a feeling I should know this!:D), and where abouts did you mount it in the case?

Look at the HDD racks :

Do you see the 4 small holes ? Those are for SSD's. And there are screws labeled "FDD screws" in the screw package bundled to the case.

PS: FDD = Floppy disk drive.

As I'd predicted - I did know what a FDD is :duh:, just forgot as its so long since I've used/handled one!

Basically the SSD screws on to the HDD trays with the SATA ports protruding slightly over the back. Fractal give you 4 screws, but make sure you don't use standard HDD screws as they're too big and may damage the SSD's thread.

The HDD sleds are also nicely labelled with A & B by the holes, indicating HDD or SSD.

or just use double sided stickers to stick it somewhere.

i stuck it on my HDD :D because i didn't have beautifully made HDD trays.
