    Hi there,

Recently my motherboard (see sig) gave up the ghost.

Symptoms are that everything fires up including the cpu fan however it will not post AT ALL not even a notification on the post led either.

Would this lean to the bios chip being the most likely at fault?

If so this would be good because the board has a replaceable bios chip.

    Part 2

in regards to this has anyone bought replacement bios chips and who did you use recommendations would be welcome.

I have found this site HERE and can only find one instance of anyone shopping with them.

    As always thanks in advance.

    Did you flash the bios?

    Was it overclocked?

If no to a bios flash then your bios shouldn't be corrupt.

If yes to overclocked then the chances are it's given up the ghost and you have a failure on the power stages.

Shame :( I quite miss DFI tbh..

Yeah, overclocking puts years of wear onto things like caps and coils very quickly. You might be able to find a replacement here?

Sadly its not worth it. on ebay a replacement is retailing at £100. and to buy a new motherboard would cost 30-40 squid then i would have to reinstall windows.

I am thinking i may as well buy an amd setup with ddr3 for around £150 if i have to do that anyway and then sell off the odd bits.
