    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any free drafting software, or if they knew how a common mechanical drafting drawing was done. I am experienced with drafting, but just forgot which side goes where :wallbash: . A little refreshment would be great. I searched google, and it doesn't come up with anything. I am going to make a drawing, then buy some plexiglass and ask them to cut it for me.

    Thanks,
    alacritous

(If this doesn't fit in the right forum, please move it. I wasn't very sure)

SketchUp is what a lot of people around here prefer.

But IIRC the filetypes output by SketchUp aren't ideal for a CNC or what have you.

AutoCAD is also a rather easy program, easily obtainable or if this is a one time thing you can order a 30 day demo CD straight from AutoDesk's website.
