Hi, I'm looking for some HTPC Softwae for OS X. My brother showed me 'Freevo' on his standalone-pc-divx/htpc machine. Since its a linux application he thought it might work on OS X. I downloaded 'Freevo' but I can't get it to work. (I don't know anything about Linux etc.) But maybe there is some other free software for mac OS X? Requirements: Graphical Interface (customisable?) Easy to install Offer: Movies, Pictures, Music Support formats: MP3, M4A, DVD, DIVX, JPG Free Controllable using keyboard I currently use mplayer for all movies, so its good if it uses that to play them. I'm new to this stuff, so excuse me if its a stupid question. I plan on "controlling" it using either my cell-phone or a PDA (bouth using bluetooth). I can program them bouth to display a "remote" wich I can program. Most I can program is keyboard-shortcuts. Using Salling Clicker as main program for using the Bluetooth devices. Also have a program to "create" remote skisn for cell phone. (k750i) Thanks, L
A few suggestions: Matinee - Movies only Center Stage - Seems to be a complete media center. Still in development though
Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have come across those 2 aswell. Matinee is only movies, not quite what I'm looking for. Center stage seems to be what I need, but its still in development as you mentioned and the current version is Tiger-Only. Already tried it under Panther (stuck on panther for the moment), but wont work. I've tried to run Freevo, started installing all the needed binaries (or something) but it just started to get more complicated and complicated. You basically need to be a linux expert and have alot of patience and time. I don't have either and am not an expert. Hmmm, Guess I should wait for Center Stage to complete.. and upgrade to tiger. L
