    Hi,

Can anyone recommend free software to merge 2 partitions together under Win7 64-bit. I have tried the free trial of Acronis Disk Director but the merge function is virtual only.

    Thanks

You can merge two partitions via the Disk Management facility in Win 7...simply delete the one on the right hand side (as looking at screen), then extend the one on the left...

I tried to split a working windows XP apartition but was unable to do so. When I went to resize it gparted quoted the minimum and maximum partition sizes as being the same. Could you shed a bit more light on the subject please..

Download Hiren's Boot CD, then use Acronis Partition manager.

I google partition manager find some freeware bellow:

    paragon can't merge partitions.
    easeus partition manager
I download from brother soft .It worked OK, but failed when i tried to merge partition. so i have to allocated the free space to another partition. Partition magic may merge two partitions which will cost you $69.95

I assume OP is trying to do this without losing data. On the other hand I assumed Disk Management could also do exactly that. Sorry, don't have much experience with that as I never bother partitioning.
