Open Source Free video editing software

    I have to make a movie as use for an advert. I have a 10sec clip which I would like to remove Xsecs from the beginning and end, then add an still image to both the beginning and end.

    Does anyone know of any decent free software?

    Depends on the original video type/codec, to be honest.

    Avidemux is ok. It's basic, and only seems to handle avi and mpeg (after internally decoding to avi) formats.
