Okay I got some questions. I want too build a Cinama, and want to have a Media PC with a PCI Anolog card for Cable, a DVB-T and DVB-S card in it. Coud I run all three together? Has anyone ever used a DVB-S card before, how well do they preform?

I wont be running Media Center, I will be running a free program. So can someone recommend a program and what cards work with it. I dont plan on spending a fortune.

Yep you can use all three together and although mediaportal is good the main bugbear for me is that the recording part doesn't run as a service so if it crashes during a recording then thats fecked and also they have gone back to the ms-dvr format for the time being. I would recommend gbpvr not as fancy looking as mediaportal but more stable in my view.

I 2nd gb-pvr I've been through showshifer, mediaportal, got all media and MCE but gone back to gb-pvr as it seems the most stable and reliable for my set up,

would gb-pr be stable and user friendly enough to use as in a living room media centre pc? It would be used by children mostly so remote compatibility is a must.

Many people on the gbpvr use it for this reason, you can customize it as well with different backdrops etc. Like all pvr/htpc you need to play around with it to get just right for your setup, also choose components that are known to work well together. I suggest you pay the site a visit www.gbpvr.com
I use the hauppauge remote with my two set ups which works fine.
