Guys - What's the verdict on Freelancer? I'm drawn to it as I was always a fan of stuff like Elite and Privateer. I've downloaded the demo, and my initial reaction was "Bleurgh, those ships look ugly" and "Err - not sure of the control system" Someone talk me into it! Tell me how brilliant it is (but be honest, if it's pants, let me know), and that the demo pales into insignificance compared to the full game. GOO
I didnt play the original starlancer but im quite impressed by freelancer. The graphics and the controls are good , they are similar to that of tie fighter which i used to play a lot Its fun to play and from the first story mission it seems that there will be a lot more good missions. Multiplayer must be awesome
FreeLancer: * Single Player is ****e * Multiplayer is good * Multiplayer does get boring after awile (espcially when you have expored every system like me) * Missions suck there is no variation or very little * Ship design blows (why do the Britonia ships look like fish??!!?) * Some jump holes/gates are locked in multiplayer which REALLY pissed me off. I give it an overall score of 67% for multi and 20% for single player.
GreatOldOne.... If you liked Elite have you seen this? - Eve Online Came across it the other day, I had a good look around the site and am now getting very excited. There's a making of video on there... the head developer's going on about how they're making the game they all wanted to play after being into elite as kids. It looks like its going to be amazing!

You should read the Beta testers diaries.... Sounds absolutely amazing... It's going to be huge Check out the videos to, really lets you get a good feel for it! Think I might start a thread about this in general discussion?
Im a beta tester for EVE Now this IS a good game and VERY hard. I havent been able to play it much tho I keep getting booted of the server, I dont know if its the game my ISP or my ISDN router. But yes EVE is very good
ive gotten the demo and liked it, and have bought the MP. I really love this game so far, but chances are as mentioned it will get boring. Hopefully it will server as my fix for a few weeks..
i have to say eve looks very good cant wait for it atm i play freelancer on a private server, it rocks
im going to be keeping an eye for eve definetly. Ill probaly be on the Digital Explosion server most of the time..
i still prefer starlancer over freelancer, it just seems that freelancer is rushed and unfinished from what i have seen
So am I now!!! Got my invite (delayed because of PIPEX! ). Guess all I have to do know is download and sign on. Can't wait!
