If you get the Virgin Tivo you can stream recorded content to a tablet/mobile (2 devices max) as long as the Tivo is on the home LAN, and both mobile devices (unless VPN using SuperHub in modem mode and additional router/VPN). There are a couple of restrictions, such as you can't stream some recordings, BTSports I'm looking at you.... But you can stream an F1 race via SkyF1 that's either recorded or just started recording. Bliss!
They're now discontinued but try and get hold of a Steam Link. As well as using it for steam game library, you can also use it to show the desktop and therefore use the PC as you would when sat at it.
