Is it possible to get freeview channels without an external roof mounted antenna ?

Are there any types of indoor antenna good enough to receive freeview transmissions ?

My little bro stole the freeview box that good old ITV Digital left us and hooked it up to his tv in his room which has a small antenna thing (shown below) and it worked so i don't see why you wuold need a externl arial.

There should be no problems using an indoor antena, Ive got one hooked up to a freeview box here and have no problems getting a signal at all, but it really does depend on the area that you are living in. Best thing to do is give it a try and see what happens.

Because then I will atleast have enough channels to have a decent flip thru. And the music channels are always on even if it is crap most of the time.

I have a 10year old black coathanger-looking tandy aerial, not even as big as a sheet of A4 paper and that picks everything up and looks great. :thumb:

In the same place, between freeview and normal, freeview definitely has a better quality picture.

Not when the pixelation kicks in when they use low bandwidth on something like a football game. But it does get rid of ghosting and snow.

Ahhh he would be 16 and that would be the large poster of Michelle Wild from FHM a few months back. Didn't notice that was in the background. :hehe:

On the subject of the arieal thing though yes in my case the freeview box actually meant i got a better signal.
