Hi all, My work was chucking out a load of 2nd gen intel stick and i thought one would come in use for my friend and his son to watch neflix and website cartoons. They will be using a 720p tv so it it should be fine as i know they are rather underpowerd but the problem is i can't find a easy out the box os that dosn't reqire a lot of fiddling in the os to open and play videos. I've tried android-x86.org but it dosn't like netflix app (maybe it's due to hardware?) Anyone know fo any others that would be fast and easy?
If you want a "streaming stick" style experience then unfortunately Android x86 is probably the best option, but as you've already experienced you may have difficulty with media apps. Have you thought about Chromium OS? A company called Neverware offers "CloudReady", which AFAIK is basically just Chrome OS: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload#home-edition-install.
