    Hey Guys and Girls,

I'm currently in the planning procedure of my first ever full MOD, a whole System Case. The only part im abit confused about is the front panel cables not reaching. I'm planning to run them through round the back of the case so you cant see them, to extend the cable length what cabling do you advise i use?

As for the case designs, im half way through them at the moment, some design captures below show the stage that I've gotten to, a lot of work to be done on them still though. Radiator is going at the top of the case, silver tubing with black Anti-Kink coils through-out. splash out piece in the RES to make the water seem like a waterfall, hitting the front of the RES and falling to the bottom.

Best part of all, going to be putting some little plastic fish in the tank too, going to cage the Outlet of the RES to make sure no fish escape!

Hopefully ill be posting a project plan for this project for the guys that would like to see how im doing can do, and suggest some alterations for the project.

If you have any suggestions for me, feel free to let me know through this thread until i have my project plan up.

Thanks for spending the time to read through this :)

The cabling for the front panel controls isn't that important, ethernet cables contain eight stranded conductors that will work fine, either strip off the outer insulation all the way along and use the twisted pairs or just strip the end and leave most of the insulation on.

BTW, there's no need to add another post just to say you added photos to your previous post, we can see that already...

Yeh, im currently making my own Networking cables so i dont need to worry about them, i was just wondering what wire to use, for the usb cables, audio, etc.

You use the wires inside an ethernet cable for the controls and audio. If you keep the twisted pairs together they should work for usb too.

What about the PSU Cables, i need to make them longer, what would recommend without using those horrible extension cables with the chunky connectors on them. what wire could i use to solder a extension on?

Again, no need for another post immediately after your first, the edit button is in the bottom right, use it.

You'll need much thicker wire for the psu, I think 16 gauge is standard for decent PSUs with 18ga on the cheaper ones, I think performancepcs.com sell suitable wire.

I don't think ethernet cable would be ideal for USB. USBs are 5V so the load might be too great... I know ideally you want 2x4-core or 8-core cable but I'd go to me local hardware store and get 4 lengths of 2-core speaker wire and get some braiding to keep them together and looking tidy. Or, having said all that, just buy a couple of USB extentions/USB printer cables and chop the sockets/plugs off each end.
