I think it may have active cooling on it which means that for a short period after the system is off the unit will continue to cool.

My main powersupply never actually stops untill I unplug it. It could also run 4 of my fans if I wanted it to.

Just use cotton bubs to wipe it out, then leave it to dry for a while, should be fine.

i pray you are right my friend =( i really dont want to spend another 190 dollars on another conroe... hopefully in about 12 hours it will be dry so ill just put on some new ac5 and my zalman, i couldnt sleep last night i was so worried el o el. but ill see you guys later im off to work.

however about the fsp, by passive coolining do u mean it will stay on forever? or will it eventually turn off? im a little scared because when i turn it off it powers my PSU my 4 cathodes, all 5 of my fans, however my mobo is off, hd is off, cd drives i think are off, and processor fan didnt spin (when i had it in there), also gfx didnt spin either so i guess thats good. i just dont wanna burn out my leds or get my fans real dusty after leaving them on for a while.

Is the molex connector plugged in at the back of the unit? Have you tried e-mailing customer support about it?

yes i double chedk and made sure, i even tried unhooking everythin thatis connected 2 that molex connect but still the same thing, i will try customer support soon, not sure why but im still iffy about my processor =(

i remember reading when u install your processor you have to make sure its absolutely clean, well it has arctic silver cleaner solution 1 and 2, ( i had to use solution 2 to take off solution 1 frm the pins), right now the dis-coloration is almost gone but just clarifying, arent the pins to a processor supposed to be spot clean? whats the worst that can happen if i put it into my mobo?

worst case scenario a short could occur and damage your CPU and MOBO and possible everything else. I would try it with only the CPU in the mobo, no drives, cards or anything just in case. I doubt it will though.
BTW you shouldn't have use the second solution deliberately, it is the surface purifier and is only to prepare the surface for best thermal transfer. Just make sure you got it all off with the cotton bud. Or thin cloth if it cant fit between the pins. Make sure you don't force it as you may bend some pins.

Conroe has little dots instead of pins right? If so then use some rubbing alchohol and just scrub the sucker. Should dry in less than an hour (after hand drying) then plug it back in. You should be fine. As for the FSP...I have no idea but it sounds like an annoying problem. Google it and find out.
