Networks FTTP now possible - BT experiences

I was very glad to be shot of BT as my phone provider given their chaotic customer service perticularly on the business side. But now I've had a notification that my (rural) home can get FTTP broadband which is goign to be a heap better that the current 1-3b ADSL.

So had anyone any experience of them with the Infinity service? Is the service reliable and if it goes wrong do they just bounce you between call centres around the world with staff reading scripts at you until you give up? Because with Plusnet (though BT owned), problems are resolved by people that know what they're doing, in general and I'm fearful of what I might be letter myself in for.

There are alternative providers available to me but they are going to cost a fair bit more, I think
