Yeah, I could do with test driving a few of those cars really. Other people's opinions are great and can give you a good idea of what the cars are like, but there's nothing like trying them out first hand ;)

Obviously the vRS isn't a problem to test since it's on sale at the moment. For the others I guess I'd be best looking for dealers selling them (don't want to waste private seller's time if I don't plan on buying!)

Again, just the insurance that gets in the way with the Cupra R. I have looked at the PD150 FR, but I think I'd rather go for the Fabia vRS as save myself a packet on buying the car and the insurance.

I just got reminded of the Honda Beat ;) Could be an interesting one.

Yeah, I've never seen an AZ-1 in the UK. I'd prefer not to import one myself, and there are regularly a few Honda Beats for sale. The gullwing doors are pretty cute (does that make me sound a bit puffy?), but the turbo-charged RWD Suzuki Cappuccino or NA mid-engined Honda Beat both seem like the better option.

I much prefer the Suzuki in that case, plus they're much more common than Honda Beats.
Not to mention quicker anyway ;)

Absolutely. Plus with the Suzuki, sort out the breathing and cooling and you can crank up the boost a fair bit. Not uncommon to get around 130bhp with a new ECU, turbo, injectors and intercooler. Quite nippy in a car weighing around 700kg.

Ok, so if I mention the VTS mods will you be interested? ;)
Although they're FWD, the Chassis is awesome, and lowered they stick to the road.

While I know Saxos are easy to mod into fast cars, they just smell too much of chav for me :( It's a shame, I wish I could live with owning one.

    That is a shame :(
I've got over that, and I should be the owner of a VTR this year :)
    Should see 130bhp aswell.

    BTW, VTS + decat + Cams + remap = 150bhp~
    Plus Throttle bodies 165bhp~ :)

Its quite a nice build up. And then theres the turbo kits... 220-250bhp~

Sounds like a nice setup, remember to post pics :thumb: If I want to go for raw power I'll probably go for a Starlet GT Turbo (thanks for reminding me of that one ;)).

I've had a look around at a lot of cars recently and I've pretty much got my heart set on a Suzuki Cappuccino now. They're hopelessly impractical, will be somewhat "intimate" with a passenger, old, expensive to buy parts for and a little bit camp, but my God are they lovely cars.

I've not been in many performance cars, but I have been in a Lotus Elise and sat in some TVR (no idea which model). The Cappuccino has the same low-slung seating position and gives you the same special feeling when you sit inside.

I've worked out my finances etc and essentially I can afford to change car any time. Now it's just a matter of getting a good one. I've seen a very nice looking one down south, but it's a good 4.5 hour drive each way for me, so rather a lot to just go down there for a look at it. I've seen a lot of pics and it does seem in excellent condition, but I obviously have a lot of reservations about buying a car I've not seen in the flesh as it were. Then there's one at a Suzuki dealership that I had a look at yesterday. It's bang on; top condition, full Suzuki service history etc and obviously comes with some warranty. They're asking quite a bit more for it than private sellers however, and it has 76k miles on the clock. I'm trying to weigh up whether it's worth spending an extra £1k or so for the peace of mind of the warranty and the knowledge that all the rust and such has been sorted. They're waiting for a new clutch to come in at the moment so I've not been able to test drive it yet.

I'm getting a bit like a kid at Christmas now, so just got to keep my head on and not make any impulse decisions ;)

The turbo would be wasted on the Saxo, 220BHP through those front wheels would be a nightmare.

    Yay for the Suzuki.
Any pics of the one you've seen?

I was joking about the Turbos ;)
    5k, is just no.

Which one do you want pics of, the private seller's or the one at the Suzuki dealership? :D

I've found others too, just mostly either too high mileage or other problems. The private one is on that popular auction website. Haven't got any photos of the one at the dealership, but it's basically perfect except for having curbed wheels.
