well it really isnt that hard if u read alot and study up a little bit....u dont need a res with an ehiem pump, but if u want one i suggest u just make it urself out plexi or something. gas fuel tanks for small rc planes also work pretty good....as for a block danger den is comin out wiht their new maze 3 block so i would wait on that...u could get a spiral or a gemini if u want...like i said just plan and ull be alright...and be carefull and u wont have any leaks

It depends on your situation but if you have the room, have a reservoir; it will give you the comfort factor.

Blocks again its up to you. I will be going plexi just so I can be reassured the water is getting to where I need it.

Airflow is a pet subject of mine and have some ideas on the subject. I will be trying out some different fans out in the lab too, which give me the best performance and airflow etc. I have some Pabst ones coming for review and testing from my sponsor. I will update very soon :D

I might try it without a res first but i was under the impression that a res helped a lot with lower temps, also whats hte best way to get air out of the system if i dont use a res?

To prevent airlocks, bubbles etc you should use water wetter and ideally an inline "air trap" for example.

The importance of an air trap and the "correct" set-up has been well illustrated by Joe @ Procooling
    http://www.procooling.com/articles/html/cooling_technologies_explained6.shtml
Please note, alot of stuff on the net (from surpriSIN sources) regardin W/C rigs reLIES on hunch or opinion rather than a sound application of physical reality and scientific understanding.

For example "get the biggest pump you can" wrong - the overall
balance is more important to achieve a -
    Consistent flow rate
    Reduce pump heat generation
Maintaining rad coolant residence time at the optimum level Minimal back pressure.
But then again what do I know, I don't even have a water coolin rig yet!... :hehe:

Does anyone know where you can get a inline air trap (or suitable, modable, alternative that does'nt look cheap) in the UK

    pleeez an tanks

u could make that no problem with some tubing and some left over window peices and a couple nipples, the only problem would be those clear clips

you are totally right there mat-ster - the lask of reliable testing is a real problem for watercooling. All that is left is often our experiance - which can often lead to wrong conclusions.

An example is the best order to have your pump, block, rad. I posted the question on another forum which created a lot of theories. Until some guy from Wales said he had tested it to see and that the order made bugger all difference. But others swear that in there experience it had made a difference.:sigh:

The res is from cooling-solutions and can only be got through them. None other that I have seen, so it is a case of buy abroard or make your own.

It looks good but would prefer an internal solution as this type of installation is not practical for my situation. I just see it getting damaged on a LAN box. But if this isn't a problem then I've you don't mind ordering abroad than it could be what you looking for.

how would you make such a tube, with two holes?
personally i tried cutting holes in one of my empty beer bottles, and the thing exploded...

What ever you choose it will require some rework skillz. Something plastic would be easier to work with tuperware is good?

Perhaps a kids drink bottle would be another allternative?

I hope you emptied the beer out first

To cut into a glass bottle is not easy. You have to use a diamond boarer. Either see if a glass supplier will do it for you or find a diamond boarer else where. I would tell you how I did mine, but its likely to be a compertition question.
