I have Got a FX5600, and the fan on it is close to dieing. Makes a load of noise. I keep getting artifacts on the screen when trying to play games. (normal Windows usage is fine). So for the moment i have a huge 120mm fan keeping it kool, but even that is pretty noisy, basically i'd like to know if the there is a replacement air cooling system i can pick up for this card.

    TIA

    Nims

Try a passive sink such as Zalmans ZM80C Heat Pipe http://www.quietpc.com/uk/vgamb.php you can get it with or without fan and it'll give you a bit more room in your overclocks over standard cooling (even with the fan its quiet!). You can buy with the fan (your setup doesn't really need it unless you're going to push some real high overclocks) or use your own fan (5 or 7 volt it for silence). My personal preference is to mount the sink and mod a fan into the side of my case opposite my gfx card so that it blows cold air from outside the case straight over it, works a charm and I get a little extra headroom on my GeForce Ti4200 :hip:

::edit:: The Vantek is a nice little fan but they're small and won't perform as well as the Zalman, plus the Zalman can be fitted to all current gfx cards and with the fan would be 'future proof' as it can be used on 9800pro/xt or geforce 5950 etc)

    Dude u asking me?

Honestly cant remember but the drives cost quite a bit got them when they came out. But generally u can save making your own machine, but sometimes u end up paying more but u get a better system.

As for my video card issues i solved them by getting a new one! :p (im just lazy) Will hopefully have a nice gainward 5900 (soft mods to a 5950 ultra) on monday!
