They arn't the best of cards but i would have thought u could have got a little bit more out of it.

Here they have a pretty similar system to yours but overclocked to either a 2400+ or 2.4ghz (they dont make it clear) so by overclocking a little u could be able to raise the 3dmark score to 10k. Otherwise i dont think your going to get ne where with software tweaks. Maybe try different sets of nvidia drivers and find out which is best for your configuration.

Also make sure you have aa/af disabled which will reduce your score drematically. But in the end of the day will reduce the picture quality!

man, thats the same card i had.... swapped it for a fully working TI4600! much much better . try and sell it to someone less "Experienced" with computers, then buy another card.

eg/ a 9800pro. It'll more than double all your benchmark scores.

:wallbash: The FX5600 certainly isn't too good, much slower than the GF4TI4200 (the slowest GF4TI), even the much faster FX5600ultra V2 and FX5700ultra can struggle against the GF4TI4200 (let alone 4400/4600). The Radeons were the much better deal too; faster, more consitent, better IQ and cheaper! A 9700 or 9800 would be a great upgrade, start saving those pennies!

dude, dont go off Nvidia just because of there s*it*y FX range :grr: , if u can save for a 9700/9800 then go for it, but if your poor like me then get a TI4600 :thumb:

best card ive had so far

;) nVidia have got themselves sorted now, the 6800 series is very good, consistent and offers greatly improved IQ from what's been published so far. This year they should be shifting their entire range over to 6800 archy only differing things by clock speeds, RAM type and number of pipes. IMHO 6800GT is the top card at the mo, but only by a smidge. GF4TI still represent great value, the GF4TI4200 often beats the FX5600ultra if not FX5700ultra and Rad9600XT! Maybe nVidia should have forgotten about GF-FX and just moved GF4TI over to 130nm :wallbash:

:D You should find 9800Pro are £130-140 almost everywhere. Other than avoiding the 9800SE (9600XT speed tops) the only thing you need to watch out for is the 128bitDDR version of the 9800/9800Pro which is no where near as fast. AFAIK only Sapphire produce it. Other than that see what prices you can find, even the 'lowly' 9700 nonPRO is a good card and generally has LOADS of o/c'ing potential in it, should get near 9800Pro speed.
