Hi, basically just wondering about this, i went to see G-Unit last nite as they were coming to cheltenham! It cost us 20 quid each and they made us stand around for 3 hours and then announced that G-unit werent even showing up.:wallbash:

So then people started getting up on the stage, police came in etc etc basically everyone got chucked out so we could'nt ask for any refunds but i was wondering if we are intitled to a refund by law or anything? Cause there were alot of support acts that came on but thats not who i paid to see!:wallbash:

There's usually a get-out clause in the terms and conditions, on the ticket itself.
Basically, promoters have no responsibility to actually provide the acts you've paid for.

    Come on though, G-Unit?

I really think the police should have just opened fire. Would have solved a lot of the worlds problems.

Contact the venue and see if they can give you a number to complain to. If not find out who the promoter were (probably on the ticket) and phone them up and ask for a refund.

From what I gather, this seems to be pretty much the expected outcome of shows for these sorts of acts. The Wu-Tang'ers made it almost compulsory for most, if not all of their members to not bother showing up for shows when they were still a going concern - or the junior members/rubbish ones would be there and the likes of Method Man and GZA wouldn't bother getting out of bed. That bunch fronted by Eminem were the same if I'm not mistaken.

I think 'rap collective', 'quality live show', and 'reliable' are pretty much mutually exclusive aren't they?

I saw that 50c movie the other night on Sky. Hilarious stuff.

I used to live there many years ago, and I often 'visit'. used to be a proud Student/Londis worker... and in your deffence, other than teh Levellers I don't think Cheltenham ever gets live music. what an odd choice though...

serves you right for going to see 50 pence.

in regards to getting your money back, i think youll find youre protected by the law. thyve failed to deliver the goods promised, so youre entitled to your money back.

go to your local consumer protection agency, theyll be able to help better than any loons on here.

Not necessarily - most tickets have a get-out clause in the T's and C's. :)
