In Preparation for the building of my race cockpit ive decided to modify my G25.

What i want to do is recreate an F1 wheel including all workable knobs and buttons which will replace the standard wheel that comes with on the G25.

Actually building the wheel and sorting out button mechanisms isnt really an issue., But my electronics knowledge is practically no existent.

So the idea is to recreate this mclaren wheel from the 2010 car:

For wiring the buttons would this [IMG] work? (click image for the website).

If its OK that sorts out all the buttons, without needing special PCBs which would be nice.

The only other problem is the LCD display on the wheel has anybody got any ideas for that one?

As soon as I saw you wanted new buttons I was going to recommend the I-Pac. I'll be interested to see how you cover the flappy paddles.

That isn't an LCD display, it's just 7-segment LEDs. Check this out for an actual LCD display.

You might also want to incorporate a powered USB hub into the build so you only need to run one USB cable, but if it's all going to be boxed in, you might not have a problem.

So the i-pac is the best option then?

Yeah i knew it wasnt an lcd but i think id rather have one to display better info cheers for that link, Ive got a rough idea on the paddles but it needs a lot of work yet.

Hopefully it'll make an interesting project.
