So it's going to have steamworks, does that just mean crappy achievements or something else?

Are we actually going to see some proper cross platform support here? I'm not 100% sure but can developers roll out updates on the PS3 as easily as they can on PC? Are we looking at a possible cross platform co-op?

I bet Gabe didn't want anything to do with the platform until he can shoehorn his Steamy bits in there somehow.

    And that's why.

I can only see this as a good thing, more gamers for developers to sell to, more games for gamers to play.

I am with Gabe, I was a huge critic of the PS3 when it was released, but as time went on I saw the light. I got through 3 xboxes, and got sick of paying for ive when I only used it a few times a month. With the PS3 I get blu-ray, much better media support, a web browser and free online gaming. The only thing the PS3 is lacking is the rich developer community of xbox live arcade.

I was the same, I criticised the PS3 when it first came out and then got an XBox 360. I love my 360 but I do want a PS3 now.

Updates are easy on consoles, on my 360, if I am online and boot up a game-it will tell me there is an update. I can either say yes I want to install it or no. If I say yes it installs and restarts the game. If I say no I can play the game but will have to do it offline as it is not the most up to date version. Simple.

He did mention auto updates and cloud saves on the Sony key note speech.

The first person platforming of portal or mirrors edge would also probably benefit greatly from 3D. I wonder if it will support it?
