I have been considering getting some form of insurance for my variety of gadgets. It always worries me when we are away and I have my tablet, possibly my laptop, my DSLR and variety of expensive lenses - and leaving them in a hotel room. I have looked at protectmybubble - but they don't offer new for old insurance, they simply try and match up what your equipment is worth and replace it that way - a bit like car insurance. Are there any other insurance companies that you could recommend? I am checking on my home contents at the moment (with Lloyds TSB) to see what they have covered away from home.
I've got cover for away from home as part of my contents insurance with Swintons. Barclays do quite good gadget insurance with discounts for multiple items. Based on reputation I'd avoid protectmybubble as claims are apparently a nightmare (based on a couple of mates experiences)
We've been insured with Ecclesiastical for a while and they have always covered gadgets away from home. They replaced my Sony Xperia X1 without question when it was stolen.
