moblie phones are something i've always noticed are very very different. in america they pale completely to what is available in europe, here a young teenager wouldnt want the best availalbe in america. another thing is the price of them, just looking on the networks sites the costs is a hell of a lot higher, and contracts seem to be longer too.
Yes, I remember when I was in the US a few years ago & wanted a sim only for use in the US. Having a GSM 'phone went into the local T-mobile & chatting away with the sales person was surprised to find that they couldn't get a lot of models (like my Nokia) that they felt that they could sell. I've also noticed over the last couple of years that whereas we used to seee the US getting mobos a couple of months before Europe it's now swung the other way e.g. the Gigabyte 964-DS4 & Biostar Tforce 965 aren't available in the US but are in Europe.
So did you get a SIM, BUFF? I've had many many battles with T-mobile trying to even buy a phone outright. I'm on a family plan and they refused to even sell me a bare phone without talking to the person who was "head" of the plan, and they they wanted me to sign a three year contract extention!
yup, got a sim no problem - cost me about $20 iirc with some time (40 minutes?) on it. Don't think that they got much call for that as they had to go & check first. The US seems to have a very different way of selling mobiles compared to the UK (& we're quite a bit different to other parts of the EU).
