The Inq reports on hot, wet SLI action from Gainward:

IF YOU THINK that you saw it all, wait until you sees the dual SLI water cooler for two Gainward 6800 Ultra PCIe graphic cards.

Gainward has worked on this for some time and it got the first samples back. It had an idea to water-cool the cards but to make a water cooler that will attach to both cards. The cooler actually fits on both cards at the same time and it's specially designed for that purpose.

The company went one step further, as it offered CPU blocks teamed with red tubes all connected to two times twelve CM radiators topped with CM fans. Overclockers have to love this as it's all ready for you but it won't be cheap.

Those coolers have already sampled and Gainward is expected to release them soon. You can bet that Gainward plans to overclock its cards and that it wants to strike hard on 3Dmark05 10000 results and possibly break it. Gainward 6800 Ultra PCIe should be available by the end of the month.

IMO that looks just a little cheap. Uglier than a single and I bet not as effective. (Not that I wouldn't mass murder to get a one with some ultras stuck to it :p )

    500 posts! YEY, I'm not a n00b anymore :D

    looks... expensive
I guess they want you to buy the cards at the same time and if each card costs as much as their previous water cooled cards.... £1000 plus for some graphics cards that are going to be out of date shortly. super rich need only apply :D

And you've never lived till you've had a top of the range Gainward Card (wish I could've afforded the watercooled one)

No offence to gainward but that looks horrible..and i doubt the performance would be too good. When i looked at the pic you supplied you could hardly tell what was what! Clean up your cables gainward! :D

I second this. The two cards are too expencive as it is, and adding that watercooling stuff on top?

I guess there are people out there who have more money than they could possibly spend. Couldn't they just give some to me instead of wasting it on future proofing a computer they will be replacing in 6 months? :D

i noticed their cpu and northbridge waterblock set, it looks pretty kool, being red plexi and all. Although the mounting bracket look really crappy/cheap :hehe:. I also think that it is way to much to be at the top, come on, i mean 1200-1300 dollars just on graphics cards alone :eeek:. I think I will have to stick with my radeon 9800pro for a while longer :waah:

That's about my budget for an entire system upgrade, including gfx, mobo, cpu, ram, etc.

Anyone want to come help me knock over one of gainward's mfg plants? Those things are prolly worth more than their weight in gold :eeek:
