If I was to buy a game new, not second hand, and install it on my PC could I then install it on another and still be able to play the game on both, or is it only possible to play that game with that license on only one PC at that time?

    Thanks!

    completely depends on the game.

any game from steam can be played on any PC although only on 1 at any time.

generally you can install games on as many PCs as you want and play them all but almost all of them will not function on multiplier/LAN together as they have the same key.

Others are full of that awesome stuff DRM which can limit which PCs its installed to or how many activations you can make which means your better sticking to a single PC for play.

And some other games, there is 0 limitations. But these are few and far between. An example: The Witcher 1 and 2.
