Can you recommend me some good games similar to Diablo II, etc ?

Heard IceWind Dale, Icewind Dale II and the expansion pack are good too? Anyone have any experience ?

Neverwinter Nights ? I think thats set it Forgotten Realms as well (Love the forgotten realms books) ...

I would want a game which plays decently single player .... Online gaming is a plus, but it must work without an internet connection if required - Because my halls internet connection has just about everything blocked off, so 98% of games probably wont work anyway.

Also if anyone has any such games for sale (cheap of course :)), email me.

icewindale and nwn are a hell of a lot more involved than diablo 2. you'll find they are a hell of a lot of differences. its less hack and slash and more involving with char creation and level management.

baldors gate 2 is better than icewindale btw, and cheaper ;)

I would prefer more character creation and involvement than pure hack and slash.

Will try and get hold of Baldur's Gate II demo to have a go.

neverwinter nights is great, the online community is amazing and they have just released more offical moduals that you can buy for their site. plus the 2 expansions are also really good and add alot to the game.

/ ends fan rant... :hehe:

you can get bg2 + expansion for £9.99

and the nwn boxset is £19.99 atm as well

my suggestion is get nwn. the single player outweighs the multiplayer easily and it is so addictive. specially hordes of the underdark. now that is class :D

A game called Sacred is very much like Diablo 2.

The best RPGs in this style are:
    Fallout
    Fallout 2
    Arcanum

    I highly reccomend Arcanum.

I've played BG 1 and the expansion, BG2, Icewind Dale and NWN.

BG1 could get a little tedious in places but it was good fun and had a great story
BG2 is great and had a really polished story
The Icewind Dale games are a bit more old school Dungeon hack and slash

NWN rocks, plain and simple, it'll keep you busy for weeks and it looks nice!

Played Diablo I and II to the end.

Tried Sacred demo - seems ok.

Tried the Neverwinter Nights demo as well - I like it.

I have played NWN at a few lans, I seriously think It was one of the most fun lans we ever had. The original game is just fantastic. I had so much fun playing it. The expansions are also very good. Basically, Icewind Dale is D&D 2nd Edition, and NWN is D&D 3rd Edition. Diablo isn't even remotely close to how fun NWN is.

Oops, I got confused. I played Diablo II and its expansion pack to the end.

Played some Diablo I but never got around to completing it.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Planescape: Torment. In my opinion, THE five best RPGs ever made, and curiously enough all from the same studios (Black Isle/Bioware). They're a lot more "hardcore" in their style than Diablo II (THAC0 anyone?), though much of the games' class rests on the storylines rather than the D&D rulesets. Single-player is a lot better than D2 due to non-linearity and intricate plotlines, as D2's strength really comes from battle.net and the enormous online community.

I always found IWD and IWD2 to be a rather boring hackfest compared to the other games that use the Infinity Engine (those above other than the Fallouts), and let me just say that if you buy NWN for the single-player game, you're in for a disappointment - it's pants.
