    Yeah but downloading will still take longer than my copy/ paste, or as my steam is installed on a seperate partition, i never have to reinstall it...pwned :p

    Format c:, then use winrar.


    I use the builtin backup in Steam and backup the whole shebang to another drive. Takes flippin' ages, but at least it means a quick reinstall if winrar fubars.

    You wish. I wouldn't bother lying about my bandwidth, I'm not that insecure (though I am insecure enough to brag about it :p)

    it peaks at 11, physically cannot go higher (some sort of artificial cap applied by the uni I suspect). Took a few takes to catch it when it was exactly 11, avg. is 8mb/s from rapishare and such.

    ah man painful! :) my uni is pretty good. get about 100-300mb/s with steam. although i cant even get on any downloader sites which sucks :(.

    Oh my god...
    I couldn't even think of that speed , speed here is about 20Kb per second.

    If you get throttled after downloading 3GB you have to back up your steam folder....

    I still backup my steam folder for the sake of it, having a 2TB NAS is quicker to download from than the internet :D
