    Star Wars: TOR
    Jumpgate Evolution
These will be tried out, and hopefully turn out to be great.

And of course massive amounts of Shattered Horizon!

I don't know if anyone has already talked about this game but I can't be bothered right now to read all the 50-something comments, so here I go:

God of War 3, I know, I know, this is a pc related e-mag and only games that are also released to pc and consoles get headlines here but this is a game that I'm eager to see it launched!

Sorry about the off-platform but I had to say it. And maybe GT5 but the frequent postpone dates have me doubting but here's hoping

Alan wake is gonna suck now, it was supposed to be a huge open world game with top notch graphics. I can't see that being true now as an Xbox 360 exclusive. So much for requiring a quad core and DX10 lol.

To be fair L4D2 on the 360 is not a great representation of what the consoles can actually do. For some reason it looks alot worse that it should do (seems to be running the equivilant of medium or lower PC settings - my wifes laptop with mobility 4200 can muster this).

Gameplay wise though, it is identical to the PC version.

I'm sorry, I thought 1080 (i or p) was 1920x1080. Didn't realise you could magic it into displaying in 1366x768 without scaling it (and therefore affecting the image quality). Try running a console capable of HD graphics on a TV capable of displaying them properly.

And I am a PC gamer. My 360 only really gets used for RockBand nowadays.

I'm looking forward to the Dragon Age: Origins expansion pack, think its called Awakening. Mafia 2 would be good if I had a PC that could run it.

+ 1 for BF Bad Company, the trailers look very promising, if they can get the right balance between infantry combat and vehicles.

    1080i = 1366x768?

And silly me always thought the number was the resolution indicator while p was for progressive and i for interlaced where the latter meant that every frame was just a half-picture [every 2nd line]...
I must've missed the part where they threw that whole concept overboard. :eyebrow:

Yeh, djDEATH is more than a little bit mistaken there. The number is the vertical resolution, where the letter indicates interlaced or progressive.

    1080p is 1920x1080
    720p is 1280x720

A lot of 720p LCDs actually have a native resolution of 1366x768 for some reason though (our living room's Sammy for instance).

And also, I'm ashamed I didn't think to mention Natural Selection 2 myself. My God, I can not wait for that game. The first one was so amazing. After reading everything UW post on facebook, and seeing the screenshots and teasers, it is shaping up to be damn excellent. The graphics are nuts.

You'll struggle to find a 32" TV that does 1080p.. if you do, it'll be damned expensive.. most if not all up to about a year ago were 1366x768.. so were a lot fo 37" TV's too. And anyway, your point doesnt make sense, go to a HIGHER resolution for better experience? that would reduce the performance even further!!! es it looks nice, but my point is that triple core PowerPC and Rubbish 1st generation unified shader graphics are a bit dated for 2010, when midrange PC hardware can beat it - and the games are often £25 for PC not £40

in my opinion.. 37" and above TV's are really too big and make the TV the unmatchable focal point of any living room... what happend to sitting round the coffee table and talking to one another WITHOUT staring at the TV?

Big screen yes, but big TV no... besides.... TV (the government sponsored, corporate funded "programming") is the pantsest thing ever

I'd like to know where you're reading up on it then....

1366x768 is just the resolution of "HD Ready" TVs, which can display both 720p (720 vertical lines) and 1080i (1080 vertical lines) signals, although the latter obviously needs to be downscaled to fit. It's common sense really, all you need to do is read what it's telling you - the number represents the number of vertical lines of resolution, and the letter represents the scan method. If 1080i was actually 1366x768, it would be called 768p, but it's not.

Haha, did djDEATH decide to edit his post, in which he tells everyone to just read up on 1080i/p since we are all wrong?

    Love it.
