Sounds pretty good, so going for Ogres returning from a riad, gnoblars are always good. Well its a choice between 2 horde armies IG/NIDS or 2 elite armies Chaos/Deamons, all armies are bad in 40k so make a choice and go with it, can always trade etc if you dont like the army etc.
Well, I knew I wouldn't be able to resist for long... Picked up a Space Wolves Battleforce on my way home last night, got a few ideas for a drop pod based list with a few wolves and stuff as backup. I was also having a look around last night for inspiration on a dreadnought that I will be needing as a bit of anti vehicle and found a couple of pretty interesting conversions: Not a bad idea and it does kinda fit the wolf theme however....
They're well put together models, don't get me wrong, but I really don't like them. I think it's that that level of divergence from the "standard" makes me think it's more suited to traitor legions than the Imperium.
Yeah, the upright one definitely has a look of traitor about it, would look a lot better without most of the plates having an obvious 'from a defiler' look to them. Get rid of the points on the rims and they would look a lot better.
Any of you lads had probelms with gw washes turning really smelly , my badab black currently smells like a pond full of rotting leaves ...... could use it for smelling salts...
Yea my badab wash asbolutely stinks, most of gw washes reek. I've started making my own washes using APJ Les' recipe
I finished my venerable dreadnought, taken ages to actully get a good picture of it due to the sun not coming out much this week: The rest of the pictures can be found in my flickr gallery Also got a big order from darksphere containing a space marine battleforce, land raider crusader, predator, razorback and devastator squad. So I should be busy painting for a few months. If I was to play, that brings the whole collection to about 3000 points
Looks as nice as usual, sir. Got very lucky today, found a Badger 150 double action airbrush - After a good clean it's back in action, much nicer than my Testors one.
Quick question guys about undercoats when using white as a main colour, basically what colour would you guys use for an undercoat(primer)? Going for a white like the ones use on the Daemonettes skin here: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1170215
For those I'd spray white, wash with a 50/50 asurmen blue/leviathan purple, then drybrush with space wolves grey (I think that's the most "off white" grey GW do), then pick out details as appropriate.
Just bought my first finecast, an emperor's chumpion - and damn the stuff is soft... if you're not careful you can gouge chunks out with your fingernail, on the the upside it's a lot easier to glue than the old metals and more inclined to stay in one piece.
Cheer, I'll give that ago once I go grab the paints. By the way where do you guys buy the Vallejo paints from that I've seen you talk about? Some people say certain colours are better from them.
Check out maelstrom games thats where I get the majority of my vallejo stuff ( i use a lot of model colour which I can pick up at my local hobby store, they dont stock game colour unfortunately) Quick update on my space wolves. Still need abit of work to finish them off but I'm quite pleased at how there turning out so far.
