Thanks bud. I wasn't sure I was going to be doing any Chaos stuff as I have always stayed firmly on the loyalist side of things but 2 models did it for me, the Maulerfiend and Typhus so Nurgle it was.

Plus you just have to love toughness 5 space marines.....

Thanks , the backpack was just a drybrush job.. basecoated with kemri brown, agrax wash , heavily dry-brushed with tyrant skull , then light pure white drybrush to make it pop.. dropped some wash into the pipe recesses and around the spine... then allover with lamian medium on its own to take off the chalkiness...

some better pics taken in daylight.

still struggling with neatness on these small 40k guys but im pretty happy with how he came out.. what id really like to do is use nmm gold for the edging (which is why im looking at the reaper paints).

The lord is looking good. That green is much needed and the backpack looks awesome.

Off sick today (and most likely tomorrow as well) so I made a start on painting the 'fiend:

Quick base coats of old Ghoul Grey, Leadbelcher and Rakarth Flesh, nothing too neat, the washes will pull everything together. This is always my least favourite part of a paint on a large model as it is just soooo boring. I then went over with a very thin wash of Caliban green.

Next up is a wash of good old Devlan Mud on the fleshy bits

Then a VERY thin wash of purple ink on the green bits, the purple looks waaaaay more harsh in the picture.

Nurgling!! This is the one you get with the Typhus figure, didn't look right on the base I used for Typhus.

Started to rust up the metal work as well as pick out the pustules on the back. Next step is to make them look a bit more fleshy as well as that they are growing out of the plates and not just stuck on there.

    Non-Kranon Kranon looks great, Phil!

That maulerfiend is awesome - I love the "nurgle" job you've done on it. Especially love the 6mm BB's - Never would have thought of that, definitely something I'll have to suggest to the lady when she builds her larger models.

    I saw this over on another forum, and I really liked the concept;

Thanks bud. I just chopped the BBs in half and pushed them into a big dollop of liquid green stuff, worked great.

Pretty much finished my non-Kranon Kranon now.

Might do a bit more on the horns and clean up the star on the cape.

Need to find somewhere better to take pics, or get some better lighting.

It's definitely the same design, it may be a different type of metal though if your one is 10 years old.

What you'll probably find is that they did to a limited run back then, but have set them in motion to be produced again with the release of the newest rules back in June.

Been giving old grimgor a bit of a facelift , might enter him into a store painting comp at some point..

Basically i've added a couple more layers of highlights to the skin , changed the lips teeth and gums to violet and added another layer of highlights to the red sun face on his chest... (and tidied up the black armour a bit... i also redid the base as i've decided i dont like pre-cast resin bases..

also i got the new camera... seems good just need to build a light box

Anyone got a spare space marine shoulder pad (just a normal blank one) that I could have for 2nd class postage?

I'm one short on my assault squad, and it seems a bit pointless buying 10 off ebay.

I should have one. PM me your address and I'll send one over.

Any preference on the pad (location of the notch detail, terminator honours etc) or just a plain & simpe pad?
