They're Lichtenstein's warband, stars of the only copy of White Dwarf I ever had... The figure on the far right was 'Gryx', but looks like he nabbed one of 'Shred's' arms sometime after the story I read...
Shred? I only read the one report with him in it, it was the first issue that had the release of Inquisitor in it. Gryx tore Enforcer Bararella apart, quite literally, in 2 rounds of combat.
I had the one after that, where Barbarella was replaced by Lucretia Bravo or something like that. Shred backstory was 'chrono gladiator' or some-such-s***, the model was a completely unmodified Krieger 'Krash' Thrax.
Very nearly bought a Lizardman Stegadon, the GW taint is growing strong lol. The warhammer models look so much more detailed than the 40k stuff, well to me anyway.
Ah, that's quite poor really. I have Krash right in front of me actually Hefty bloody mini to say the least. I'll finish painting him one day. A bunch of me and my friends in Uni actually took the Inquisitor rules and turned it into a pen&paper version. Couldn't afford the minis, let alone have the time to make scenery. P&P was great fun.
Looks like the Stargate ship. I forget it's name. If there's one item that would get me back painting it would be that. However, £400 for a lump of plastic is a tad much. Can you even use it in game?
You can indeed.. means you can drop a Land Raider wherever you want, I believe... Don't quote me mind. X-304? Odyssey/Deadelus? I do hope you're aware that Stargate is younger than these things I'd actually want one of these and then there are others with 2 Rhino's... I want one of each, paint them up expertly and mount them as models somewhere. They're amazing.
I don't even play 40k and I want that ship, that would make an excellent addition for my shelf alongside my EVE ship models. The Prometheus? (Prometheus Image) I can see the similarities, to an extent... same sort of basic outlay but the Prometheus is a fair bit chunkier and doesn't have wings.
Didn't fair too well against that Orbital Cannon. However, yes, the Prometheus is the one I remember. However, it also looks like a Firefly/Event Horizon hybrid. Do they have these ships for other armies?
That one is standard Imperial (Primarily Space Marine) Storm/Thunderbirds. They're ground assualt craft *shouts for Phalanx to pay attention* that drop the troops/armour off. The Space Marine's also use Drop-Pods and a few others wonderful gizmo's. The Imperial Guard use a specific transport and I'm gonna guess so do the other races, but for the moment my brain has melted.
Bit of picture spam: Storm Raven: Nav lights in Canopy switch - Pretty obvious switch method! Purifiers: Still a fair amount of work to do, but they're getting there! Terminators: Aside from a few things to paint and stick on (Decorations etc) they're done. ...Yes, I am taking a fairly heavy focus on close combat again >.>
should have seen them when they first came out in 1997. The gunship was classed as limited edition, was all metal and came in a wooden felt lined presentation box.
Unless the pics have been removed for exceeding bandwidth or something there should still be the pics I took of my original thunderhawk in the wood box towards the beginning of this thread. They were never intended to be sold as three were produced for the ultramarines entire chapter display for one of the games days. There was such interest in them on the day that they decided to put them up for sale at £400 a pop. I got mine at the same time as they were changing over from the old lead based alloy to the newer white metal so the kit I have is a mash up of the two and now that it as aged a bit you can really se the difference in the parts. I did start to put it together but as it was never designed as a kit for anyone outside of the GW Studio there is an insame amount of modelling work that needs to be done on it just to get the thing to hold together under its own weight. I wouldn't like to guess at the number of pins that would be needed although it would probably be something around the 200 mark.
My old friend has one of those metal thunderhawks, weights a ton... Mind you, he managed every GW north of the border about 10 years ago Sadly I am selling most of my warhammer stuff on, its been sat dormant for 3 years now and at its height I had 10k of Imperial Guard (too much...) Still think the stuff is great, just PCs are more my thing now, so I sell warhammer to buy PCs, its a good circle
