Cairn Wraith re-painted an old White Metal Ghost I had knocking around (Edit: after painting this, I kinda want to see if I can get another 3 and paint them as the Chocolate/Vanilla/Strawberry phantoms from Scooby Doo ) And the first of my Spirit Hosts (wanted more of a "Slimer" green for these guys)
Working from home with the car out of action, I painted up the wax parts for three of the seals, and wrote the pencil lines for the last half of the fourth. Look pretty good, if I do say so myself; I just need to work out what I want to put in the centres of each seal now. I'm thinking about a skull or imperial eagle that I'll need to model and 3d print to get consistency. I like discrepancies in many things, but I feel like the actual stamps for the wax would be consistent. I also caved and bought a couple of Primaris hero models (Librarian and Chaplain) to paint, and no doubt, sell, and a couple of Death Cult Assassins and a Pox bringer for a mod to be decided on later!
I did think about that - I've had a custom wax seal made before so I'm sure I could do it again. Just not sure it's worth the ~60 quid to do it. And finding something that matches and is the right size might be a mild challenge.
Printed my first test mini on the Photon, Seriously impressed with the quality for the money! The picture really doesn't do it justice, got some different resin on order and a list of stuff to print.
Now it's working... always fancied trying to recasting/printing some tau stealth suits in something like that...
I feel like GW could make a killing if they sold clear versions of stealth models. Been working on the Primaris Librarian and Chaplain while I was watching progress bars on Exchange;
I stand by my opinion that some of the Primaris stuff is amongst the best that GW have produced in years and that Chaplain ranks highly amongst them. I have it still in the shrink-wrap and I've only completed my Redemptor Dreadnought so far. Still left... 2 x Primaris Intercessor Squads, 1 x Primaris Aggressor squad, 13 x Reivers, 1 x Primaris Chaplain, 1 x Hellblaster squad and all of the stuff that came in the boxed game... all unpainted. And I recently got all the new Necromunda stuff as well. Whoops.
Yeah, the primaris models are very nice - although I could swear the legs for the chaplain are straight out of the age of signature gold dudes.
