Not really done much modeling yet, I found the Base toppers i want but the website i found them on i've emailed the guy twice now and never had a reply its really put me off wanting to order there, But its £40+ cheaper than if i got them from Etsy i dont want to really spend £120 on bases.. It almost be cheaper to buy a cheap resin printer n do it myself. I keep holding off incase they reply and part of me thinks the site accepts paypal and Credit cards so i have something to fall back on but then it doesnt fill me with much hope when i dont get a reply. i've got a 20% off etsy code but it expires soon and its the case of do i spend more and no i have someone who has replied to questions or save myself £40 and hope...
Can't you get the printer files and pass them to some kind soul on here, chuck in a few beers and call it a societal win?
I want the bases in resin and i need 70 of them. I feel its a big job to ask someone. I did have a anycubic resin printer but the plastixnsheet riped and leaked resin that hardend everywhere. I was told a hot spondge n scraper but just never liked the printing. If the guy doesnt reply today i.might change plans buy some base ready stuff from geek gaming
I have some of the Geek Gaming base ready scrublands and used it on these guys: It is pretty good although if you like to put another coat of PVA over the top of the base as I normally do with sand type textures, the dye used in the little green bits will run. A bit of static grass on top and that is the result. It is the same mixture / combination that I use on my Blood Bowl stuff along with some painted white lines on a couple of bases in the team.
Yeah ive used the GGS for years, all my tau used thr same as you blood bowl ans my 40k stuff is the grim dark rubble, i just wanted something different. I might do clay bases again but my base cutter doesnt go above 60mm. I just think for my dark angels 30k a castle theme would be cool. I try to make my models pop from thr bases.. so tau white models green base, Da white and cream so did black with snow. Grey knight mars red dust. The latest was my sisters of battle i did black with a grey base but then added the UV orange candels. I am strange i dont like to start my models until ive locked down my bases
It depends on the model for me. Back when I used to paint army sized projects, I would sand and grit my bases as I built them using PVA -> grit and sand -> watered down PVA, then spray prime. The bases were all but bulletproof, but it did take a little longer. These days I tend to wait until I have finished painting to base things as I mostly paint one-off figures now.
Any uk dark angel players that own the lion model and didnt use the hooded helm. Im after a replacement mines gone walkies n its the one i love to run my lion with
Did you hear about the World Eaters who loved to tell bad jokes as they slaughtered their enemies? They were really Khorney.
Assault termies, i repeat, assault terminators! whooooop! https://www.warhammer-community.com...-immovable-object-in-one-indomitable-package/
Hell yeah, will get the box set as my deathwing always needs more terminators, ill just get some shoulder pads and bits to theme them up. There seams to have been a hell of allot of annoucements as of late, and allot of leaks, since the warehouse moved from luton its gone crazy, my mate did a collection from luton and has seen unannoced stuff in the past
Luton ? i think you mean Lenton mate ive been working on this chungus of a beefy boi i didnt like the arms being quite so long, so i printed out a much shorter arm set, i do plan to add a load of Chaos gubbinz to the armour, but i really dont want to mess it up, so i'll be printing, rather than green stuffing stuff
Kind of disappointed to get an email saying they're releasing Season 3 of Blood Bowl next. Given the time between the first set of rules (including the black and green latest box set of first edition rules that I'm admittedly still playing) and Season 2, releasing this third effort so soon (and yes, I know it has been indeed some years since 2, but in comparison, it's "soon") just feels like they're about to keep piling into the mindset of "you must now keep spending in order to be able to play", much the same as with every other format they currently run. BB was a staple purely because it didn't follow such aggravating logic. But hey, that's just my opinion.
I think this months ultramarines and yet again another Kalgar just sums up hoe GW want to treat there players.. so many factions lacking old units or new units yet the smurfs get a new kalgar... It wont be long till v12 of 40k. Ive been itching to build but i fell out of painting so got myself some gundam and gundem esk kits..
The upgrade cycle is one of the reasons i stopped playing/buying the first time around. It is very frustrating. My first taste of GW's capitalistism was going to my first (and last) tournament at Warhammer World (think it might have been the first event held there it was that new); and they had a "massive sale" on all the army books for fantasy (>50% if memory serves), and made a massive deal of this "sale" all weekend, so everybody was buying as many as they could carry; yours truly included with my teenagers pocket money. Then as part of the awards ceremony at the end, they announced the next edition (my brain remembers the 6th edition rulebook, but timing implies 5th edition). Gits either way.
That is blood-sucking treachery at its corporate finest. This is the time when people need to vote with their feet. Think back to the heady days of Space Marine first(?) edition (Dark Angels photo-shopped boxset) and Codex Titanicus. They were literal codices - issued, then unchanged (aside from WD rules additions for new units/balancing). You spent your money on expansions, new armies or new units for existing armies. And WD. NOT on "new rules editions". All this talk of "we've redesigned the game to be more streamlined" is essentially in-depth balancing (and actual streamlining, admittedly in some cases). In their defence, you could in theory just pick up the new rulebook, rather than boxset, every few years, but that's on the (weak) assumption that all of your units are still valid and haven't been phased out. And also defeats my rant and longing for the old days.
If you're happy playing a previous season with a group of friends, just do that. Only issue would be if you use any particular league management tools that are likely to get updated to the new edition, though TourPlay in particular still allows you to create leagues using Season 1/LRB6.0 rules, so may well keep Season 2 as legacy for continued use. Personally I'd have paid for an updated season 2 rulebook that included all the errata and FAQs so I'll happily get the season 3 rulebook (and pass on the box, not enough stunties in it). From what I've seen so far my 'flings can't wait to get stuck into Season 3! Edit: the whole removal of positionals to fit the box contents is pretty nonsensical though. You'll still need another box for lino's and journeymen in leagues.
No, you're absolutely right and that's what I/we intend - to just use everything for which we've already got rules and chaps available. I've not heard of TourPlay but will now check it out - nice tip! Do the new rulebooks come with amended stats for all teams/characters as well? Because from cursory knowledge they changed some of the stats when they went to Season 2, making our existing teams incompatible; I've since read around a bit more and it seems Season 3 is more of a streamlining and refinement update than a complete revamp, so possibly less applicable there. What's your Edit point regarding though? Haven't heard about this bit...
